ABSTRACT

The human gastrointestinal tract is colonized by 100 trillion microbes which is called the gut microbiome, whose number vastly outnumbers our bodies'. The gut microbiota plays an important role in the process of human health involved with evolution, development, metabolism and immune defense. However, it also has been found to be related with many human diseases. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have begun to reveal how these inhabitants played a role for obstetrics and gynecology related diseases. As discussed in this review, some imbalance of the microbiota ecosystem occurs in several diseases, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, gestational diabetes mellitus and premature birth. Moreover, the reestablishment of the intestinal homeostasis has shown great effects on women related diseases as well as neonatal/childhood outcomes. This paper reviewed the correlation between gut microbiota and obstetrics and gynecology related diseases.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effects of negative pressure suction liquid collector in patients undergoing percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar discectomy.Methods Fifty patients undergoing percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar discectomy from October 2015 to August 2016 were chosen as the control group,while 50 patients receiving the same surgery from September 2016 to February 2017 were chosen as the experimental group.The experimental group was treated with negative pressure suction liquid collector,and the control group was treated with conventional drainage procedure.Water pollution of surgical drape,operator gown and operating room floor,and workload of operating room personnel were evaluated,and rate of intraoperative hypothermia was compared between two groups.Results There were only 3 cases of operator's splashed sleeves in the experimental group,and the water pollution rate of surgical drape,operator gown and operating room floor in the control group was 100%,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).The workload of circulating nurses for cleaning wet floor and operation assistants for sucking liquid in the experimental group was reduced by 100% compared to the control group (P<0.01).The rate of intraoperative hypothermia was 4% in the experimental group and 22% in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Application of negative pressure suction liquid collector for percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar discectomy can significantly reduce the workload of operating room personnel and pollution of operating room,and the rate of intraoperative hypothermia.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the difference in the efficacy on traumatic nerve injury among electroacupuncture, warm needling therapy and electroacupuncture plus warm needling therapy and explore the better therapeutic method.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The electromyography (EMG) and electroneurography (ENG) of 93 cases showed traumatic nerve injury of moderate damage. According to the single blind randomization principle, they were divided into an electroacupuncture (EA) group, a warm needling therapy (WN) group and an EA plus WN group, 31 cases in each one. The main acupoints were selected from Yangming Meridian and Shaoyang Meridian corresponding to the distribution of damaged nerves. EA, WN and EA plus WN were applied separately. The treatment was given once every day, 15 treatments made one session. After 3 sessions of treatment (45 treatments in total), EMG and ENG were re-checked and the results were analyzed statistically.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Regarding the total effective rate and effective rate, it was 96. 8% (30/31) in the EA plus WN group, which was better than 74.2% (23/31) in the EA group and 77. 4% (24/31) in the WN group (P<0. 05). Concerning to the improvements of EMG, the result in the EA plus WN group was 96.8% (30/31), which was better than the other two groups [74. 2%(23/31),74. 2%(23/31)] (P<0. 05). In terms of the recovery of nerve conduction and amplitude, the results in EA plus WN group [(50.9+/-4. 6)m/s,(8. 8+/-2. 9),microVx1 000] were better than the other two groups [(43.7+/-3.1)m/s,(4. 2+/-1. 9)microV X 1 000,(43. 8+/-3. 3)m/s,(4. 5+/-2. 2)microV X 1 000] (P<0. 05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>EA combined with WN is a better therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of traumatic nerve injury.</p>
